HAPPY MONTH OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF MARY!!!!! (And Happy Lord’s Day (Sunday) as Dec. 1st falls on Sunday this year… which ALSO the start of Advent, so Happy and Blessed Advent!!)

Mamma Mary, pray for us!!

While many think of this early December time as Advent or at least the Christmas season (Which Catholics celebrate both this month, respectively) Catholics in the Latin Church have a tradition of dedicating the month of December to the Immaculate Conception of Mary!! And the Feast of the Immaculate Conception is Dec. 8th!!

This devotion is one of the many mysteries that the Christ’s (Catholic) Church prepose to us as dogma! Which means we may and must believe it wholeheartedly as a one of the many supreme truths of our Christian faith!

The Church Fathers taught that the grace Jesus merited on the cross at His Crucifixion and Death, has been applied back in time to Mary, so that, in a world born into original sin after the fall of Adam and Eve, Mary was CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN!!! And by that same grace she perpetually accepted it and responded giving her “fiat,” her “yes” to God throughout her whole life, thus remaining sinless and being a woman of cosmic good, doing good in good in the little things, all the way to one of the greatest things by giving her “fiat” to being the “God-bearer” - that is, bearing God. In. HER. womb!!!

Her Immaculate Conception entails her whole person, not just one part of her, and we share in that Immaculate Conception - for us, being born again - through the purifying effects of God’s Grace, namely through the Sacrament of Baptism, and subsequently the sacrament of Reconciliation! Don’t be discouraged if you aren’t Baptized, but pursue it in prayer and deed and desire! And pray, pray, pray, no MATTER who you are and what sacraments or sins are on your soul.

And this Mystery of Mary can inspire us, nurture and form us, just as she surely inspired her Son and God Jesus while on Earth, and nurtured and formed Him from the time of her fiat, in her womb, and then for some 30 years before he went on public ministry! AND EVEN AFTER that time Mary surely guided Jesus, strengthening Him by her purity and ardent love, EVEN growing her spiritual motherhood to the apostles, and disciples, all all who came to her… not to mention her queenship being the mother of the King (Jesus Christ)!!

Prayer:
Mamma Mary, please love us, and through the mystery of your Immaculate Conception which we celebrate this month especially and on the 8th of December, make us a new creation through God’s grace and our baptism, and by frequenting the sacrament of Reconciliation (confession).

Make our hearts, and every part of our being - BODY AND SOUL - one with your Son Jesus and His Holy Church, in this life and in the next forever and ever!!

So a Happiest Month of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, a Blessed Advent and Lord’s Day, to you, your loved ones, your community and country!! May she, who is our life, our sweetness, and our hope, the MOTHER of God! protect, guide, strengthen and bless each one of us, by the means of her Immaculate Conception.
